For quite some time I felt that something had been lacking in my pleasure reading and then my 'little dude' (cousin) re-introduced me to Youth Fantasy Fiction and I am addicted. Of course, I enjoyed the Harry Potter series. How could I forget this genre?! One of the authors that he recommended was Rick Riordan. I was familiar with Riordan's work as far as Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief. Well, Riordan really does his homework and is a master of weaving history, present day, and fiction. With the Kane Chronicles: The Red Pyramid (Book 1), he brings to life the Gods and Monsters of Ancient Egypt in a modern day battle for power. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and look forward to the continuation of what will prove to be a battle of the ages. I have to thank 'little dude' for a great recommendation.
